THE BELL TOLLS AGAIN. Quick mini-update about addresses!
– Mon, Sep 22, 2025 at 12:49:05 PM
Greetings, Dungenerators!
I just wanted to put out a teeny tiny little mini-update to let you know that I've unlocked all addresses for backers receiving physical rewards, so that you can update them if you need to!
You can find your survey and see your shipping charge by clicking the link in your BackerKit survey email or requesting your survey link under "Lost your survey?" on the BackerKit project page, here:
There's also a link in the BackerKit email that popped into your inbox this morning informing you of the upcoming shipping charge this Wednesday, September 24th. Addresses and orders will be re-locked right before the charge happens, so please make sure your address and payment info is correct if you've moved or gotten a new card recently!
If you have any other questions, please send me a direct message or comment below, and I'll get to 'em as soon as I can.
Short and sweet! I'll come up with some fun stuff to share soon. :D
Cheers, - Rollin
THE BELL TOLLS. Shipping Shall Be Charged!

Greetings, Dungenerators!
The time has finally come to charge for shipping! I've successfully pulled my hair out untangling the logistics and spreadsheets and legalities, and cards will be charged next week Wednesday, September 24th. In addition to this update, you'll get an email from BackerKit in the next few business days (probably Monday or Tuesday) telling you about the upcoming charge. Plus, I'm about to message you all on here, too, just to make sure you see this!
You can return to your survey and see the shipping (and tariffs, and VAT) totals by clicking the link in your survey email or requesting your survey link under "Lost your survey?" on the BackerKit project page, here. Please make sure your address and payment info is correct if you've moved or gotten a new card recently!
Okay. Whew. That's really all I have to say, but my brain is wobbling to-and-fro under the surreal realization (surrealization?) that this gigantic project is nearing completion. You've helped grow this thing from a double-sized card deck to a premium product well worthy of retail release! A bizarre, labor-of-love design that I wasn't sure would find its audience is becoming the fruition of my lifelong aspiration.
I've known for a while that I couldn't ever really thank you enough, so I poured everything I had into making sure the end result was worth it. I hope you can feel that when you hold it in your hands.
May your blades never grow dull, - Rollin
PEERING THROUGH THE PORTAL, YOU FIND... ANOTHER PORTAL. New web versions of DIAD and DUNGENERATORs!
– Thu, Sep 04, 2025 at 03:17:49 PM
Greetings, Dungenerators!
August has been a month full of hurry-up-and-wait over here, but I've passed the time putting together some exciting new tidbits for you:
DIE in a Dungeon in a Forest in a Web Browser!
As promised, I've added The DUNGENERATOR: Series 2 along with a fancy new nature-themed digital playmat to the PlayingCards.io version of DIE in a Dungeon!
Gaze ye upon its fancifulness and rejoice! Rejoice, I say!
I can't remember if I mentioned this in the previous update (and apparently can't be bothered to check 😅), but I've also:
Added a print-and-play version of Series 1 to the Itch version of DIE in a Dungeon (so those of you who just bought the digital version on Itch can properly print-and-play the entire game now)
Fixed the automation in the PCIO version so that the Dungeon Deck acts closer to its physical counterpart(s)
Added a built-in link for the (full, up-to-date, searchable) text version of the rulebook to the PCIO version(s)
Beautified the whole thing just a little bit more ✨
(You should have received your Itch keys in your BackerKit files. If not, let me know.)
Just download the Series you want to start a campaign with from Itch, upload it to PlayingCards, and invite a buddy to play by sharing a browser link! Huzzah! :D
Proper Web Versions of Series 1 and 2, as a Treat
After putting the PCIO version of DIAD together, I realized it might be nice to have similar web-browser versions of the DUNGENERATOR decks themselves. And so I made them!
Removing all the extra DIAD stuff freed up a bunch of room on the "table" and made some extra features possible:
More space for dungeon (of course)
Room for a dice tray and a dice box
No upper player limit (that I'm aware of)
A button that links to the Room Prompt PDFs for the corresponding Series
The Dungeon Decks are built using their standalone rules
So now you can have a fully zero-prep dungeon crawl TTRPG session online with your friends (and/or foes) just by sharing a web link!
You can, if you so desire, even dig into the Editing features to add your own miniatures and such.
Anyway, it took me a moment to put these all together, so let me know (perhaps on the DUNGENERATORS Discord?) if you get some use out of 'em and if you have any suggestions for features to add. And enjoy!
No, You Haven't Been Charged Shipping Yet
Boats carrying the various payloads of decks and games are due to arrive in the next couple of weeks, so I definitely need to charge shipping soon, I realize.
I'm still waiting to hear back from two of the fulfillment houses, specifically regarding how much VAT (if any) I need to charge along with shipping for EU and UK backers. (The original plan was to ship everything myself from the US, which would have meant all VAT/duties/etc. would be paid by the recipient at the post office when they pick it up; I'm hoping using the fulfillment companies either lets me charge it beforehand or eliminates some of the charges entirely.)
Now we're just waiting for the ships to come in so we can see the import bills.
Rest assured, I will put out another update as soon as you're able to pay shipping, VAT, tariffs, etc. and make as much noise about it as possible!
That's All for Now
There are still a few more stretch goal rewards to put together, but I'm keeping this update short and sweet because I suspect there will be another very soon.
Until next time! May your bags of holding never tear! -Rollin
THE CREAK OF WATER-LOGGED PLANKS AWAKENS YOU IN THE NIGHT. Games are boarding boats! Addresses will be locked soon!

Greetings, Dungenerators!
It has been a month filled with hundreds of emails, each a tiny step toward getting each component perfect, properly produced, and tucked safely aboard a variety of vessels heading to warehouses near you.
A Proper Unboxing
The final version of the game components is now revealed (via this photographic evidence kindly sent by our intrepid manufacturer friends):
NOTE: This is not my hand. Set your sights on the game instead, ye miscreant!
The case will come shrink-wrapped, which is a shame because the "skin" of the case is velvety soft. But it's also good, because it ensures all the guts stay inside
The Final Form of all of the components. You can tell from here that the dice are both legible and exceedingly cool
The Time of Boats is Now
Now that everything has been printed, molded, collated, proofed, wrapped, and packed, it is set to board a number of boats. Modiphius has kindly taken charge of coordinating the freight shipments, and I am in contact with four mighty fulfillment houses: VFI in Asia, Australia, and New Zealand, Whalebacker in the Americas (except Canada), Modiphius themselves in the EU, and Zatu in the UK and the rest of the world (including Canada). This split will be the least costly for all of you, shipping-wise, and it should* also be tariff- and VAT-friendly. (Meaning you should be able to pay all associated costs before the shipping happens, and your post office shouldn't add on any weird surcharges and make you pick it up from them.)
*Emphasis on the "should." These games are being shipped out to 40-something different countries, and each one has its own rules, so there may be some outliers.
Anyway. These will forevermore be your assigned shipping regions!
Addresses Will Soon Be Locked
With the games sailing the high seas, you will very soon (probably early next week) get a notification that your address is going to be locked. Please make sure you update it to the correct shipping address, and prepare to pay for shipping!
The rough shipping cost estimates I've gotten from the fulfillment houses so far have been roughly comparable to the estimates I gave at the beginning of the campaign, which is pleasantly unexpected!
Tariffs (and VAT, I believe) will be charged through BackerKit at the same time as shipping, and they should only be a few dollars per order.
The Update is Too Long; I Shan't Be Bothered Reading
Everything has been manufactured and is going on boats now
Addresses will be locked soon (you'll get an email)
Shipping and VAT/tariffs will be charged a little while after addresses are locked
One Last Thing
I've started working on The DUNGENERATOR: Series 3's art! Here's the first little sneak peek at a couple of its new icons for new card types:
Series 3 will have "Interiors" that will be placed in a special way and include their own combinatorial generation
These icons aren't final (they're probably too detailed for that), but they give a sense of where I'm headed with them
That's all for now. As always, you can comment below or send me a message (or even ask on the discord) if you have any questions. The next update will probably be "Yes, everything is still on boats," but I'll try to include some fun pictures as well.
Until then, keep your torches dry and your blades sharp!

A GRACKLE ATTACKS YOUR BACK-PACK. Tiny update about surveys!
– Mon, Jun 16, 2025 at 01:36:05 PM
Greetings, Dungenerators!
I just wanted to send out a very quick update to the tune of two things:
THING 1: MANUFACTURING HAS BEGUN
We've nailed down the final, final, FINAL_final_v2_update_060625.pdf proofs of all of the manufacturing files, and the manufacturer has begun their Arcane Processes. So, all that's left to do at this current point in time is to cross our fingers and hope the physical products turn out as cool as the samples and proofs. (And, if they don't, correct that.)
THING 2: PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU'VE FILLED OUT YOUR BACKERKIT SURVEY
At the time of writing this, there are just 46 backers with surveys that are incomplete for one reason or another. If you're one of those folks, I have sent you an email directly from my own email account with a link to update your survey and/or method of payment!
(If you suspect you may have been sent one of those, but it does not arrive in your inbox, you may want to check your spam folder, just to make sure. And if you got one, please do not mark it as spam. Please don't send me to the Spam Zone. There is no oxygen or water there; only spam.)
Please note:
If you don't fill out your survey, I cannot send you your rewards!
You won't be charged for shipping (or VAT, or tariff charges [if they happen]) until just before shipping begins.
You can still update your address until just before shipping begins (and I will make sure to remind everyone again before that happens).
I don't really have anything fun to leave you with, but I did make this little reveal video of the physical samples:
That's all for today! Happy Monday! Keep those grackles off your back, - Rollin
